Our Story. John and I first met December 22, 2001 at a Christmas party hosted by John’s sisters. He tells me that he immediately noticed me upon arriving at the party because of my long dark hair and beautiful face. How flattering! I was attracted to John’s artistic style, genuine friendliness and cool, crazy hair. He gave me his phone number that evening, and I was excited to see where God would lead us. Our first date was in February, 2002, and over the next two years we developed an amazing friendship as we fell in love. Despite living three hours away from each other for part of that time, we both felt God continually reaffirming our relationship and opening doors for our first, and prayer fully last, exclusive dating relationship. After a great deal of prayer last spring, I felt that it was God’s Will for me to return to Northern Virginia and continue to pursue our relationship. And on December 27, 2003, John’s birthday, he proposed to me in front of the National Christmas Tree in Washington DC. It was an amazing day that I will remember for the rest of my life. We both feel extremely blessed that God has brought us together and wish to forever glorify Him through our marriage.
